Oink! 🐷 Listen up! There is such a thing as a JUNK FOOD KETO DIET and I see it everywhere all the time. Stop it already people! Please! Adopting a keto diet is not an excuse to stuff yourself silly with junk meats and junk dairy. There is never ever any reason on any diet to eat with wanton abandon things like bacon, sausages, ham, corned beef, deli meats, hot dogs, burger patties, salami, chicken nuggets, canned tuna, battery eggs… or quite frankly processed anything. The same goes for pasteurized, homogenized (aka molecularly rearranged) hormonally destabilized cow’s milk and all derivative dairy products.
Use your common sense.


Dropping your carb intake does not give you free reign to consume unhealthy animal products. Being low carb doesn’t somehow magically immunize you against the harmful horrors of factory-farmed protein in all its cancer / heart disease / E.coli / obesity / malnutrition / brain damage / depression / miscarriage / respiratory infections / influenza glory.


Instead, support organic farmers and buy pasture-raised, grass-fed, free range, hormone and antibiotic free, ethically reared animal foods. It might mean eating a little bit less protein because real “clean” food costs more. But guess what? Most of us eat far too much protein as it is so you will actually be doing yourself yet more favors by prioritising quality over quantity. 
Lastly, industrial agriculture is not only bad for our bodies it’s bad for our planet. So eat and live with wisdom and kindness towards your health and your habitat. Both will thank you.
